“I recently got a new Mitsubishi heat pump from J Martin Indoor Air Quality to replace my old forced air gas furnace. J Martin is a Diamond certified Mitsubshi dealer, which means their installations have a 12 year warranty, instead of the normal 10 year. Technicians Kevin and Irvin Crispin did a great job on the installation. Yes they are brothers (Mr Inside and Mr Outside). I could tell it wasn't their first rodeo. They got the entire system swapped out and running in one day, including running new 220 volt electrical power halfway around my house. I love the new heat pump. It's super efficient and I can't even hear it running. The permit process wasn't quite as spectacular. J Martin charged me an extra $1200 to do the job with a permit. California requires a HERS test to be performed as part of the permit process. They took care of applying for the permits with the city and arranged for a third party company to do the HERS test after the installation was complete. This company was basically nonresponsive. After weeks and several calls back to J Martin the guy finally showed up to do the HERS test. It didn't take him very long and he said everything looked good. But then weeks went by and no report. I want to give a shout out to Donny, who works in the office at J Martin. He took the initiative to chase down my paperwork, both within J Martin and the third party company, and eventually broke the log jam. On the bright side, it passed the city inspection on the first try. So the system was installed on March 17 and the permit wasn't signed off until May 7.”
